Craig Rosen Joins New Context as Strategic Advisor

New Context, a leading innovator in the security of data for government, energy and highly regulated industries, today announced that it has appointed Craig Rosen, a veteran in security architecture and risk management, as Strategic Advisor to help drive product development in secure critical infrastructure.

“The need for Lean Security methodologies in global critical infrastructure has never been greater as the scope, sophistication and cost of security threats grow. Current solutions do not approach security orchestration holistically, leaving organizations at great risk,” said Craig Rosen, New Context Strategic Advisor. “The New Context design principle is a unique, agile approach to building secure and effective foundations and I’m excited to join New Context and help lead its expansion in globally regulated industries.”

“After years working with customers in energy, finance, telcom and across government we’ve built resilient architecture that advances our mission of keeping the connected world safe. With the growth of ephemeral computing and data moving in new ways, we’ve carried lean security forward in a way that ensures our clients are protected for threats of today and tomorrow,” said Daniel Riedel, Founder and CEO, New Context, Inc. “We welcome Craig, who has deep expertise building security and risk management practices, to our team of advisors to help our engineers protect global critical infrastructure.”

In a career that spans over 20 years, Rosen has built, led, and scaled innovative information and risk management practices for organizations in both the private and public sectors. He is passionate about translating the technical complexities of cybersecurity as a function of corporate risk management to Boards and the C-Suite. Alongside his role with New Context, Craig serves as VP and CISO for AppDynamics where he built and continues to lead the company’s first DevSecOps security practice pre and post Cisco acquisition. Prior to AppDynamics, Craig was the CSO for FireEye and built the company’s first information security and risk management practice through IPO, and previously led the cybersecurity strategy, risk, and architecture functions at Pacific Gas & Electric Company.
