SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/28/13 -- Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the application performance company, and T-Systems today announced that for the first time world-wide the Riverbed® Steelhead® Mobile wide area network (WAN) optimization solution will be demonstrated on an android tablet as part of T-Systems' Mobile Application Performance Management. During its presentation at CeBIT 2013 taking place in Hannover, Germany on March 5 - 9, T-Systems, a leading cloud service provider for enterprises, will showcase accelerated enterprise application performance on mobile devices -- flexibly and highly secure from the cloud.
The demand for worker mobility is growing as end users drive the trend of bring-your-own-device (BYOD) into the enterprise. Organizations are investing in WAN optimization to ensure the communication flow between employees, partners, suppliers, and customers remains seamless no matter their location or device they are using. T-Systems Mobile Application Performance Management enables individual users to receive the same LAN-like application performance using the T-Systems WAN environment.
T-Systems intends to offer Mobile WAN optimization to enable application acceleration for laptop users worldwide as a part of its enhanced Application Performance Management cloud service. "Application Performance Management brings together our cloud and VPN services offering, and our experts analyze ICT infrastructure performance and develop a customer-specific ICT strategy. We enable IT decision makers to create outstanding relationships with their businesses," said Reinhold Wiesenfarth, vice president responsible for TC portfolio management at T-Systems. "With the increased adoption of mobile devices and tablets within the enterprise, we think it is critical to extend application acceleration capabilities to any devices being used by an organization's globally dispersed workforce."
The international ICT industry and CeBIT as its flagship show have injected fresh impetus into the global market. At the conference, attendees can see the live demonstration of Riverbed Steelhead Mobile running on an android tablet as part of T-Systems' Application Performance Management cloud service in Hall 4, stand C26. This demonstration is an early look at the integration of Riverbed Steelhead Mobile technology with Juniper Networks Junos® Pulse SSL VPN to provide a mobile security and acceleration solution that enables anytime, anywhere secure user connectivity with LAN-like application performance from mobile phones and tablets.
"Enterprises are determining how to deal with the emerging trend of BYOD, which is increasing the popularity of tablets and interest of workers in making use of mobile technology for business," said Paul O'Farrell, senior vice president, Steelhead Products Group at Riverbed. "It is our mission to make our solution as scalable as possible so that organizations can provide superior performance no matter their location, device or application. We're glad enterprises are getting the chance to view our performance solutions on a mobile device that will be increasingly used within the enterprise in the coming years."
