SEATTLE, Feb. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --thePlatform, the leading white-label video publishing company, today announced that it has been selected to provide the back-end video management for Astral Television Networks' newly launched The Movie Network (TMN) GO, HBO GO® Canada and TMN Encore GO streaming service in Eastern Canada. TMN GO will use thePlatform's "TV Everywhere" (TVE) solution to enable subscribers to catch-up and watch more of their favorite premium television programming across PCs, tablets and smartphones.

The Movie Network is a pay television service that offers Eastern Canadians premiere access to Hollywood hit movies, new and exclusive HBO® content, critically acclaimed Showtime® series and first-rate Canadian programming. Subscribers can now stream on-demand this popular content to their iOS devices via the newly launched TMN GO service. The TMN GO service will carry programs seen on The Movie Network and multiplex offerings HBO Canada and TMN Encore.

thePlatform's cloud-based, mpx video management system will serve as the central aggregation hub for collecting, protecting, and publishing video to TMN GO across devices. The system will also authorize TMN GO access, based on a user's paid TV subscription through participating Canadian cable or satellite providers.

"The new TMN GO service reinforces our commitment to providing subscribers with even greater access to exclusive, first-run programming, offered in a centralized destination," said Domenic Vivolo, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Astral Television Networks. "Empowered by thePlatform's video management and TVE solutions, authorized users can login and access high-quality pay-TV programming when they want it, and on the device of their choice."

"As testament to the robust scalability of our solutions, we're honored to help The Movie Network extend the TMN GO service into Canada," said Marty Roberts, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, thePlatform."As the Canadian pay-TV market continues to evolve, thePlatform will play a critical role in supporting The Movie Network`s initiative to enhance subscribers' subscription value beyond the TV screen."
