EarthLink Ranked #1 Managed Service Provider by MSPmentor
Tops 6th Annual List of World's Top 501 Managed Service Providers (MSPs)

ATLANTA, Feb. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- EarthLink, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELNK), a leading IT services and communications provider, today announced that it has earned the prestigious number one ranking on the sixth-annual MSPmentor 501 Global Edition (, a distinguished list and report identifying the world's top 501 managed service providers (MSPs).

"EarthLink has quietly transformed itself from an ISP . . . into a full-blown MSP. Big areas of focus include managed voice, cloud hosting and integrated voice and data services," states the report.

The MSPmentor 501 report recognizes top managed service providers based on a range of metrics, including annual managed services revenue growth, revenue per employee, managed services offered and customer devices managed. It is based on data from a global online survey conducted from October-December 2012 by publisher Nine Lives Media.

"Thousands of EarthLink employees have worked tirelessly over the past several years to transform our company into a leading managed service provider, and we think MSPmentor and Nine Lives Media were right on target by recognizing our achievement with this top ranking," said Michael D. Toplisek, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We are committed to helping our business customers maximize their growth potential with managed services, and this is a very public confirmation that we have a winning formula."

MSPs on this year's global 501 list lifted their combined annual recurring revenues 24.5 percent to $2.54 billion. Together, those MSPs now manage more than 5.6 million PCs and servers, and nearly 400,000 smartphones and tablets, according to Joe Panettieri, editorial director, Nine Lives Media. This year's list was expanded extensively to now include a small business edition plus MSPs from Europe, the Middle East and Africa as well as Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

"I congratulate EarthLink for achieving the top position on the MSPmentor 501 Global Edition," said Amy Katz, president of Nine Lives Media, a division of Penton Media. "My colleagues and I have followed EarthLink for many years, and recently have watched the company's evolution with great interest. We respect how EarthLink continued to explore emerging market opportunities, and the solid traction they are now clearly experiencing in the marketplace."
