Luxepedic Introduces New PUR Cool-Luxe™

GREENVILLE, S.C., Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Luxepedic, a US mattress manufacturing company based in South Carolina, is proud to announce the newest addition to their line of comfortable, durable memory foams: The new PUR Cool-Luxe™.

PUR Cool-Luxe™ is the newest visco-elastic foam material designed for use in Luxepedic mattresses. The visco-elastic foam significantly reduces painful pressure points and keeps the sleeper cool, dry, and comfortable all night long. Formerly known simply as Cool-Luxe™, Luxepedic's original memory foam has always been a premium mattress material, but is now certified by CertiPur US® as a healthy material as well.

The CertiPur US® seal certifies that that material has low emissions (VOCs) for indoor air quality, and that it is made without:

  • Ozone depleters
  • PBDE flame retardants
  • Mercury, lead and heavy metals
  • Formaldehyde
  • And prohibited pthalates

"Luxepedic is always striving to improve the comfort and safety of our products. A mattress has to do more than just be comfortable, it has to be built with materials that are healthy for your body," says Thomas Johnson, Luxepedic's Director of Safety. "This certification means Luxepedic owners can rest easy knowing that the foam in their Luxepedic mattress is free from harmful heavy metals, chemicals, and more. We've always done this, and the certification just enforces the work we've always been dedicated to doing."

To be certified as a CertiPur US® material, the foam must pass a comprehensive testing process. Independent laboratories administer the testing, and companies must have their material retested yearly in order to maintain certification. "We're taking customer safety to the next level. We can and do build foam that's comfortable, long lasting, and healthy. The future of luxury memory foam is here and it starts with PUR Cool-Luxe™."

Luxepedic has been manufacturing premium memory foam mattresses since 1931. A family owned business, every single Luxepedic mattress is produced in the United States by American workers.
