Seibert's Chooses First Things First of Greater Richmond For BP 'Fueling Communities' Grant
Richmond-based Seibert's Family of Companies places $6,500 grant with city-wide teaching program to help strengthen families

RICHMOND, Va., Feb. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Seibert's Family of Companies announced today that it successfully applied to the BP "Fueling Communities" program and received a $6,500 grant on behalf of First Things First of Greater Richmond. The "Fueling Communities" initiative provides grant donations to local BP business owners to help them support a local organization of their choosing. First Things First is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families through education, collaboration and mobilization. Its primary focuses are encouraging healthy marriages; connecting dads with their kids; and teaching youth relationship skills.

"We were honored to receive support from BP and Seibert's," says Truin Huntley, Executive Director at First Things First. "The funding enables us to reach out to more families and individuals in Richmond to strengthen the community at the most foundational level."

Seibert's Family of Companies – which includes Seibert's Towing, Seibert's Wholesale Fuels, Seibert's Body Shop, Seibert's Auto Auction and 'Berts Buck Stop – is always looking for new and innovative ways to positively impact the Richmond community. Recently, they launched the Toast'd Tow program: a service from Seibert's Towing, designed to get holiday revelers home safely. Previously, they company has contributed to a wide variety of community based programs such as The Mayor's Youth Academy, Toys for Tots and Food Bank collections.

"Thanks to BP's 'Fueling Communities' program, we are honored to reach out to First Things First and work to improve the quality of life for people in Richmond and beyond," says Randy Seibert, former board member of First Things First.  "We're always striving to make a difference in our local community, so pairing up with First Things First is a perfect fit for us."

Through BP's "Fueling Communities" program, BP directly grants funding every year to over 11,000 of its local BP Station owners, including Seibert's, to support a local organization's efforts in health, education, youth and housing.
