10rate Announces Best Washing Machines Across 5 Categories; LG, Whirlpool, and Maytag Win Top Honors
Editor Brittany Rowland looks at washers from 5 different categories to choose the best from each

ATLANTA, Feb. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- There are many different types of washing machines on the market and they fill many different needs. Some want a top of the line washer, while some look to find the best deal. 10rate editor Brittany Rowland has done the hard work of sorting out which washing machines are the best choices from the different categories. She looked at washing machines overall, HE washers, budget washers, front loaders, and top loaders. She wrote reviews, assessed the strengths and weaknesses of each machine, then assigned editor's choice awards for quality, value, and budget.

First up, Brittany chose the best overall washing machines. She assigned Washing Machine Ratings based on factors like number of cycles, adjustable water levels, capacity, cleaning performance, and quiet operation. The LG WM3550H was her top choice while the Samsung WA5471A won the top quality award. In her review of the Samsung she cited, "The extra-large capacity stainless steel drum holds bulky loads and the diamond drum design is gentle on fabrics with no agitator. Stylish in appearance, the console is slightly busy with a mix of button menus and a dial, but it doesn't take long to figure out all the controls," as reasons for the top quality award.

Second were the Best Budget Washing Machines. Brittany chose the LG WT5101HW for the best quality award while the Samsung WF210ANW won the best value award. Brittany said the LG budget washer is "another handsome top loader with 5.2 cu. ft. drum capacity, the greatest capacity I've come across. With that much space you'll greatly cut down on the number of loads you have to do. A sanitizing cycle powered by an internal water heater eliminates common bacteria. For convenience, automatic dispensers release detergent and softeners to maximize the cleaning performance," in her review.

HE washers, or high efficiency washers, came next. To choose the Top 10 HE Washing Machines Brittany looked at how much the washer was really saving energy, water, and time. The Whirlpool WTW7990XG resides at the top of the list with a top quality award. Besides the energy saving benefits, Brittany noted the "sleek, solid design and simple console," and "the 7 in. color LCD touchscreen with tabs for clothes, colors, bed and bath, classic, and repeat settings," as top features in this washer.

Finally, Brittany covered top load washers and front load washers. They were rated with similar criteria . On theTop Load Washing Machine Reviews page Brittany chose the Maytag MVWX700X for the top quality award with a rating of 9.5 out of 10. She said this one "has a generous capacity at 3.6 cubic feet. The glass lid always shuts gently thanks to the smooth closing hinge. We were impressed by how fresh and clean clothes came out without having to use a lot of water or detergent." For the Front Load Washing Machine Reviews page, she chose the Frigidaire FAFS4073N for the top value award. It also received a rating of 9.5 out of 10.

“Vote early and vote often.” Back in the 1920s and ’30s, when neither election technology nor oversight were as effective as they are today, and the likes of Al Capone were at work gaming the system, this phrase wasn’t a joke. It was a best practice. If you want guaranteed results, wh...
