MetroCast Selects Sidera to Deliver Managed 100Gb Waves
Upgrade of Managed 10Gb Waves to 100Gb Boosts Capacity for Business and Residential Services

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 02/05/13 -- Sidera Networks, the leading provider of tailored, high-capacity communications services to large enterprise, carrier and data center customers, announces that it has upgraded MetroCast's 10Gb connections between Rochester, NH and Boston, MA as well as Ashburn, VA and Leonardtown, MD with 100Gb capacity connections. MetroCast is a top-20 multi-system operator serving over 200 communities throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi.

Sidera not only currently provides multiple 10Gb backbone connections to MetroCast, but also will now provide 100Gb transport connectivity to peering points in Ashburn, VA and Boston, MA. The upgrade of MetroCast's network to 100Gb provides the capacity to serve its residential and business video, Internet and voice subscribers, as well as Enterprise clients who are served through a suite of Metro Ethernet products, including Dedicated Internet Access, Point-to-Point/Point-to-Multi-Point, and Digital Business Trunking.

"This is a significant announcement as it represents one of the Industry's few client-facing 100Gb network connection installations," said Clint Heiden, President of Sidera Networks. "Sidera is well known for its ultra low-latency and diverse network. Now we have added the ability to scale and deliver any amount of capacity to meet the demands of large network, video and content providers throughout our footprint."

"We are extremely pleased with Sidera's ability to meet the growing bandwidth demands of our customers," said Josh Barstow, Vice President of Advanced Services for MetroCast. "The rapid adoption of our video, Internet and voice products within our footprint, coupled with the growing demand for Business Class Ethernet services, will require the scalability that will allow MetroCast to optimize product performance and the quality of the customer experience."

Sidera's network services the Northeast and mid-Atlantic corridor with high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity to key cities including Boston, New York, Washington, DC, Chicago, London and Toronto. The Network reaches as far north as Burlington, VT and Portland, ME with its most southern points in Ashburn, VA and Washington, DC.
