Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

CARMEN Commercial Real Estate Celebrates 20 Years of Tenant Representation

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- (Marketwire) -- 01/30/13 -- CARMEN Commercial Real Estate Services announced today that it is celebrating its 20th year in business providing real estate services exclusively to tenants of commercial real estate, having negotiated the office leases for more than 500 client companies.

Founded in 1993 by Chris Carmen, the vision was to create a real estate firm that specializes in only representing the interests of commercial tenants, free from the potential for conflicts-of-interest inherent in traditional real estate brokerages.

Carmen was a founding member of Indiana's statewide technology trade association currently known as Techpoint, serving on its board from 1999 - 2007. He has represented numerous emerging tech companies, in addition to some of Indiana's most notable success stories including Aprimo and T2 Systems. CARMEN also represents national clients, such as Atkins Nutritionals, having recently completed a 220,000 square foot distribution center relocation from Chicago to Indianapolis.

CARMEN is positioned to serve its multi-national clients in over 80 major markets through its affiliation with ITRA Global (International Tenant Representative Alliance). "Advocating strictly on the tenant side of real estate transactions is valued and understood in any language," said Carmen. "ITRA Global is a valuable resource for collaborating on our clients' requirements worldwide."

In celebration of its anniversary, CARMEN launched the "CARMEN Cares" initiative, a program designed to support its not-for-profit clients. "In 2012, we were honored to be the real estate partner to the Joseph Maley Foundation. Through this work, we recognized a compelling opportunity to support not-for-profits," said Carmen. "We hope to work with many more not-for-profits in our community as we move into our next 20 years."
