Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Information Security Takes Center Stage at CARTES America Conference in Las Vegas, April 23-25, 2013

Whether organizations are launching a mobile payment application, instituting an EMV initiative or securing an electronic transaction, at CARTES America they will learn new ways to minimize their risks and encourage customer adoption for their services. The leading security and smart card experts will gather at CARTES America in Las Vegas, Nev., April 23-25, 2013, to address these issues along with real-world strategies for securing the growing prevalence of mobile, embedded and cloud based applications.

Five day-long tracks will be devoted to information security covering nearly 40 sessions over the three-day conference. On April 23, CARTES America will host a track on Securing Mobile Payments and Services featuring speakers from the United States and Europe addressing topics ranging from delivering a secure contactless mobile ecosystem and the changing face of mobile payments security to two case studies on real-world implementations. Two tracks will take place on April 24: EMV and Security and Electronic ID for a Secure Identity, and on April 25, speakers will cover a range of security topics in the tracks on Smart Card Security & Embedded Applications and Cloud & Cyber Security Challenges.

“The increased risk of data breaches, identity theft and malware have made consumers more aware about the importance of protecting themselves and their organizations online, which is why we are devoting much of CARTES America to helping smart card, payments and mobile service providers learn the techniques and technologies to secure their operations,” said Isabelle Alfano, event director of CARTES America.

The second CARTES America conference and exposition will bring smart technologies, mobile commerce and digital security authorities and leading technology providers to Las Vegas, Nev. for 80 educational sessions with more than 100 presenters. The event will focus on the topics, trends and technologies to facilitate new business in the large and dynamic American market for innovative smart technologies. The CARTES America conference program includes a number of sessions addressing three broad themes: EMV and NFC deployments, mobile & advanced payments and security. The event will feature technology and application demonstrations by a sold-out roster of 130 exhibitors.

CARTES America is produced by Comexposium. Sponsors and exhibitors include ABnote, CPI Card Group, Gemalto, HID, Mastercard, Morpho, Bell ID, Bowe Systec, GET Group and Underwriters Laboratories.
