Leading Maine Economist Charles Colgan Joins TideSmart Talk with Stevoe to Discuss Ways to Move Maine Forward
Interview With University of Maine Athletic Director Steve Abbott Also Featured on Jan. 19 Show

FALMOUTH, Maine, Jan. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In an interview with TideSmart Talk with Stevoe, a weekly radio show that takes a macro approach towards society and culture, Maine's leading economist Charles Colgan joined host Steve Woods (Stevoe) for a discussion about initiatives to jumpstart Maine's economy.  The show will air Saturday, January 19, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on News Talk WLOB 1310AM and will be live streamed at http://www.wlobradio.com.  A podcast will be available via iTunes or at http://www.tidesmartradio.com.

Colgan, a professor of public policy and management at the University of Southern Maine's Muskie School of Public Service and Woods, TideSmart Global President/CEO and a declared 2014 Maine gubernatorial candidate, discussed some of the innovative economic solutions surrounding Maine's infrastructure, energy, industry and geography.

"Maine's biggest challenge over the next decade will be our ability to adapt to emerging technologies and attract and maintain the kind of educated workforce needed to power the new economic landscape," Woods said.  "As a business owner and public servant with a vested interest in Maine's future, I have the utmost respect for Charles Colgan's prudent economic insight."

During the second hour of the January 19 TideSmart Talk with Stevoe show, Woods was joined for an in-studio interview with Steve Abbott, athletics director at the University of Maine and former longtime chief of staff for Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine).

Abbott talked about the role of athletics in shaping the next generation of leaders, his close relationship with Collins, lessons learned from his 2010 bid to become Maine's next governor and his plans for the future.

Since launching TideSmart Talk with Stevoe nearly one year ago, Woods has hosted high-profile guests including famed attorney F. Lee Bailey, mentalist The Amazing Kreskin, two-term Maine Governor John Baldacci, Shipyard Brewing Company President Fred Forsley, longtime Maine broadcast journalist Bill Green, Portland Sea Dogs Owner Bill Burke and Maine Senate President Justin Alfond.
