I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Luxury Travel Exchange International 2013 Date and New Location Announced

NEWTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/15/13 -- Questex Hospitality + Travel, the world's largest multinational media, event and e-commerce company serving the global hospitality and travel industry, today announced that Luxury Travel Exchange International (LTX) will be held Sept. 10-12, 2013, at The Venetian Las Vegas®.

Now in its second year, LTX will return to the city of Las Vegas based on popular demand. The inaugural event, held at The Palazzo in November 2012, drew more than 1,000 professional travel advisors and more than 350 luxury travel suppliers and offered tracked educational programming, networking opportunities and an Exchange floor with tiered participation packages including appointment options.

The successful 2012 LTX program provided both participating suppliers and travel advisors a "quantifiable approach" with more than 7,000 appointments conducted during the two-day event, according to Jennifer Fernandez, LTX group show & event director.

"We are truly delighted to host the second annual LTX at the beautiful Venetian resort," she said. "Delegates will be able to take advantage of world-class amenities while still experiencing an intimate atmosphere designed to encourage networking and education. We are excited to be back in Vegas and look forward to an exceptional program."

Similar to the inaugural program, travel advisors will be selected for the 2013 LTX based on a review of their application focusing on booking habits, categories of bookings, specialization and other criteria.

Questex maintains the largest and most exclusive database of qualified travel sellers in the world. "The proprietary database of 'proven bookers' of affluent travel, coupled with key industry partnerships, will play a strong role in the development of travel advisor recruitment strategies for the 2013 LTX," Fernandez said.

The Venetian Las Vegas, the largest property in the country to receive AAA's Five Diamond and the coveted Forbes Travel Guide Four Star awards, is one of the world's most luxurious resort and convention destinations.

"We are excited to host LTX once again at the Venetian | Palazzo | Sands as it allows us to showcase our property to top-selling travel agents, who we see as our extended sales force," said Eric Bello, vice president of sales for Las Vegas Sands Corporation. "Travel agents play a critical role in driving business to us, so the ability to have them see and touch what the Venetian | Palazzo | Sands has to offer, allows them to have a better understanding of what we can offer their clients when seeking luxury in Las Vegas."
