Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

CP's new intermodal facility in Saskatchewan's Global Transportation Hub now serving customers

CALGARY, Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Canadian Pacific (TSX:CP)(NYSE:CP) today announced the opening of its new Intermodal Facility at Saskatchewan's Global Transportation Hub (GTH) in Regina.

The larger and more efficient facility, located on a 300-acre industrial footprint, is strategically positioned adjacent to CP's mainline between Regina and Moose Jaw and increases capacity and service reliability for intermodal customers with enhanced and more competitive services.

"Through clients like CP, the GTH is stimulating economic development through new jobs, private-sector investment and enhanced access to global supply chains." Minister Responsible and Chair of the Board of Directors of the GTH the Hon. Bill Boyd said.  "As an integral part of the Asia-Pacific Gateway the GTH is a timely opportunity for new business and investment."

"The actual concept and development of the GTH began over five years ago and was predicated on CP relocating its Intermodal Facility from downtown Regina to our current site," says Chris Dekker, President and CEO of the GTH.  "Today, as an anchor client of the GTH, we congratulate CP on completing its transition to our site and for its continued commitment to Saskatchewan's unprecedented new growth and development."

The new intermodal facility is designed to process up to 250,000 container handlings per year or five times more container handlings per year when compared to CP's former Regina terminal.

"The opening of the new intermodal terminal will contribute to CP's commitment to supporting further growth with our customers and improving supply chain efficiency in the region," said Jane O'Hagan, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer. "This new facility, along with CP's 10 other intermodal locations, will enhance our competitive access to key North American and world market."

Canadian Pacific joins Loblaw, Consolidated Fastfrate (CFF) and the Yanke Group of Companies in locating to the GTH, which encompasses about 1,700 acres of serviced land.

O'Hagan added the Global Transportation Hub is a positive extension of the railway's co-location strategy. "CP's co-location strategy positions key customer distribution centres adjacent to high-capacity intermodal facilities to drive superior efficiencies and service levels.  The GTH will offer these same advantages to the Saskatchewan market."

Intermodal trains move a wide variety of international and domestic products - ranging from consumer products like electronic, clothing and furniture to auto parts and agricultural specialty crops such as peas, beans, lentils, soya beans and alfalfa.
