TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/14/13 -- Switchable Solutions Inc. (Switchable Solutions) today announced additions to its management team and changes to its Board of Directors.

"These organizational developments will enable the Company to rapidly seize expanding opportunities for its clean technology within the global energy sector," commented Mark Badger, President and CEO. Switchable Solutions' groundbreaking solvent system is a uniquely energy efficient and environmentally friendly means of extracting bitumen from oil sands and remediating oilfield sites.

Lowy Gunnewiek has been appointed Chief Technology Officer, succeeding Dr. Eric Kelusky who helped industrialize the Company's technology over the past year. Mr. Gunnewiek comes to Switchable Solutions with well regarded technical capabilities in the energy sector, having formerly served as Global Director of Energy Technology with Hatch Engineering. In addition, he brings Board of Director level experience with early stage innovation companies in the Canadian energy sector. She has deep roots in the Canadian energy sector as well as the venture capital community. "Switchable Solutions' market driven approach to technology commercialization has garnered significant traction, which I am honored to build upon," added Ms. Scarborough.
