New Investance report published: The impact of a decade of re-regulation in the Global Financial Services Industry

PARIS, NEW YORK, HONG KONG and LONDON, Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --  Investance, the specialist financial services consulting firm, announced the publication of its annual report on major trends in the global financial services industry "The Year Ahead 2013".

Following a challenging year with much uncertainty, financial institutions are gearing up for 2013 when the impact of four years of discussion and rule-making by regulators comes to a head as regulatory deadlines come near.

'The Year Ahead 2013' reviews the impact of regulation on the financial industry over the past 25 years.  The report looks at the de-regulation that began in the 1980's, to what regulators have accomplished since the 2008 crisis.   The report goes on to look forward to 2019 by giving practical insights into the strategies financial institutions are using to adapt to a new environment of heightened regulatory supervision.

Rashad Kurbanov, Head of Advisory at Investance commented: "Since the Pittsburgh G20 meeting in September 2009, financial regulators have been working on rules to better protect the financial system from future shocks.  The impact of the rules will really begin to be felt in 2013 as many of the new rules and regulations start to come into effect."

He explained: "Every year Investance conducts research and publishes a range of papers analysing major trends, monitoring regulatory reforms and identifying ways financial institutions are changing their businesses to respond to the new market environment. 'The Year Ahead' is the focal point for that research program.  This year we examine how regulation has changed the environment and how financial institutions are responding."

Franck Dahan, CEO, Investance Group said, "Our clients tell us that the impact of regulation is driving long-term change to their businesses. 2013 is set to be another challenging year, 'The Year Ahead 2013' provides our clients with useful insights into the major trends and provides practical ways they can prepare and respond today, and in the years to come."

The 56 page report is available for free in both print and electronic format and features 17 articles by a range of Investance experts working with leading financial institutions around the world.
