LONDON, Jan. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tom Phillips, Chief Government and Regulatory Affairs Officer, GSMA, offered the following statement regarding the California Attorney General's newly released Privacy on the Go recommendations: "Yesterday, California's Attorney General Kamala D. Harris published Privacy on the Go, new recommendations on mobile app privacy intended to encourage app developers and other players in the mobile sphere to consider privacy at the outset of the design process. "The GSMA welcomes these recommendations to the mobile industry, which incorporate our own Mobile Privacy Principles and App Privacy Guidelines and which are referenced in this new document. Privacy on the Go reinforces our common campaign for the need for more transparency around data practices and increased user control, as well as greater accountability of all mobile industry players around the important issue of consumer privacy."
