Picadelic Introduces FxGuru, Premium Video Special Effects App

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - January 08, 2013) -  Today, Picadelic, a leading developer of image-based entertainment products, announced the recent release of FxGuru, a new mobile app that brings big-budget, cinematic-quality special effects to Android video

Created by the same software engineer who brought the world in 2007, FxGuru gives aspiring directors, sci-fi and action movie fans, or anyone looking to amaze their friends with the ability to easily add special effects to their mobile videos.

FxGuru dramatically improves upon the iPhone App of the Year (Action Movie FX) by bringing premium augmented video to Android and introducing groundbreaking new features. Innovations include:

1. Flexible Camera Movement: Proprietary MotionMatch™ technology allows a camera to move during filming, dramatically enhancing realism.
2. Improved Results with Virtual Decals: Virtual Decals provide a visual overlay of guidelines while filming to make complex scenes easier to shoot.
3. Long, Detailed Scenes: MotionMatch™ enables longer, more detailed effects, giving users the ability to shoot more dramatic sequences without breaking the illusion of reality.

FxGuru's team of artists has designed an impressive library of high-energy science fiction and action movie effects, from UFO sightings and rampaging robots to exploding barrels and incendiary flamethrowers. With over sixteen effects available at launch (and more on the way), FxGuru can be used to create short clips to astound friends and wreak imaginary havoc on co-workers, or harnessed as a tool to direct more complex, plot-driven stories with multiple effects.

FxGuru includes three free effects at launch. Satellite Crash offers a front row view of an aging satellite as it plummets to the earth crushing anything in its path. UFO Shuttle captures a UFO over the horizon as it sends a landing craft roaring overhead. And TNT Barrel explodes in a mix of gunpowder, smoke and debris, destroying its surroundings. A wide variety of other effects are available for in-app purchase, including:

Sci-Fi Movie / Futuristic / Alien Effects: Mech Attack; UFO Arrival; UFO Invasion; UFO Calling; Alien Probe; Meteor Strike

Action Movie / Weapons / Military Effects: Flamethrower; Cruise Missiles; Molotov Cocktail; Bunker Buster; Grenade; Building Demolition; Rocket Launcher

The FxGuru App is available for free from Google Play at:
The iOS version is expected to ship in the coming weeks.
