Leica Biosystems Introduces New Novocastra HD Antibody Menu for Head and Neck Pathology

NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, England, January 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

The Novocastra™ HD menu for head and neck pathology comprises six antibodies[#], each selected following extensive customer research and independent evaluation* by external QA.  The menu is the second portfolio of antibodies to launch from the new Novocastra HD range, following on from the introduction of the Novocastra HD menu for breast pathology in October 2012.  The new Novocastra HD menu for head and neck pathology is now available for sale in the USA, Canada and EU. Availability in other regions will follow. Detailed information about the new menu is available at http://www.LeicaBiosystems.com/novocastrahd.

Leica Biosystems developed the Novocastra HD menu with the aim of producing a high performance range of antibodies for the most commonly performed IHC tests.  Each antibody was evaluated by an independent EQA body, NordiQC, to define staining performance in comparison with leading equivalents from other manufacturers. Antibodies were tested according to the instructions for use on the Manufacturer's immunostaining platform.  Noticeable differences in performance were observed between antibodies for the same antigen on several occasions, which emphasizes the advantages of using Novocastra HD antibodies as a fully validated solution for IHC testing.

Through the use of Novocastra HD and the BOND immunostainer, additional quality can be built into every laboratory's workflow, delivering results for diagnosis that can be relied upon every time.

The Novocastra HD menu for head and neck pathology is available in a range of formats and volumes to help meet the workflow needs of every laboratory.  Many BOND ready-to-use antibodies come in two sizes: 7 mL and a new 30 mL size for higher usage requirements.  Liquid concentrates are available in an expanded range of sizes from 0.1 mL to 2 mL.

Leica Biosystems offers histopathology laboratories the most extensive product range with appropriate products for each work step in histology and for a high level of productivity in the working processes of the entire laboratory.

I ran into an interesting problems with JavaFX. When the GUI is done in FXML it seems that if a scene has only shapes (e.g., Rectangle, Circle, etc.) the handler method doesn’t receive keyboard events. And the problem seems to be that there is no way (at least I don’t see it) to give a...
