Henderson Global Investors Limited Owns Securities of Horizonte Minerals PLC

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/07/13 -- Henderson Global Investors Limited ("Henderson") announces certain institutional funds managed by Henderson (collectively, the "Funds") owned 43,941,317 ordinary shares ("Shares") in the capital of Horizonte Minerals PLC (the "Issuer"), which Shares were acquired through the facilities of the AIM market in the United Kingdom at an average price of $0.16 per Share. As a result of these market acquisitions, the Funds owned and Henderson exercised control or direction over approximately 12.20% of the 360,046,170 issued and outstanding Shares as reported by the Issuer in its management's discussion and analysis prepared as at November 14, 2012. The Shares were acquired for investment purposes. Henderson, on behalf of the Funds, may from time to time acquire additional securities of Horizonte and/or dispose of such securities as they may deem appropriate.
