SParikh wrote: This article speaks true to the importance and capitalizing of the cloud. Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Fugro-Jason Launches Easy-to-Use PowerLog 3.4 for Petrophysics

Fugro-Jason, the leader in reservoir characterization technology for the oil and gas industry, announced the immediate availability of PowerLog® 3.4, the latest version of its flagship petrophysical software.

“PowerLog continues to be best in class for petrophysical and well log analysis.” said Eric Adams, Fugro-Jason Managing Director. “Key enhancements demonstrate our commitment to performance and efficiency.”

PowerLog enables multi-well, multi-interpreter well log interpretation, capillary pressure analysis, statistical mineralogy, facies classification and rock physics modeling. The new version makes it easier and faster than ever to perform complex petrophysical analysis. Smart batch loaders can rapidly load massive volumes of data -- well headers, LAS files, deviation surveys, zones, zone parameters and well tops -- to get the job done in a fraction of the time typically required.

High quality SDI print solutions improve output quality. Importing interpretations from third party partners and exporting results for mapping and analysis is simple and straightforward. New environmental corrections, zone parameters saved from processors and sophisticated batch well bore path computation modules make PowerLog 3.4 a truly accurate, user-friendly petrophysical package.

“Our customers count on us to meet their evolving analytical needs and generate workflows associated with petrophysics and rock physics,” continued Adams. “PowerLog continues to be an invaluable tool for well log analysis and preparing well data for inclusion in seismic inversion and reservoir characterization workflows.”

PowerLog works with EarthModel® FT and Jason™ reservoir characterization software to support the seismic to simulation workflow. EarthModel FT integrates structural modeling, reservoir property modeling, upscaling and direct output to most flow simulators. Jason addresses a wide variety of geologic settings and challenges with powerful geostatistical reservoir characterization; wavelet estimation; well to seismic ties; and 2D and 3D seismic inversion.
