I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Eventup Launches Popular Venue Booking Service in Atlanta
Leading Online Event Resource Helps Event Planners and Consumers Search and Book Unique Venues While Generating Income for Atlanta Property Owners

SANTA MONICA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/18/12 -- Eventup, the leading online resource helping event planners and consumers find and book one-of-a-kind venues, while also generating income for owners on underutilized properties, today announced its expansion to Atlanta. Since its February launch, Eventup has quickly grown to seven major cities nationwide, including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, Boston and now Atlanta.

Eventup is the first online resource of its kind to manage the booking process by helping event planners and consumers research, price, confirm availability and book exclusive event space on a single site. Customers have access to more than 5,000 one-of-a-kind venues that would otherwise be difficult to find, while providing a $1 million guarantee for property owners. Venue rates range from $500 to $100,000.

Eventup gives property owners an opportunity to generate revenue on previously underutilized and undermonetized assets through a free listing service, while also providing a $1 million guarantee.

"Finding the right venue is the critical first step in planning a successful event. Eventup can now help Atlanta businesses and consumers save days, even weeks of research by providing a free concierge-like service from the convenience of your computer," said Eventup founder and chief executive officer Tony Adam. "We have helped consumers and businesses book everything from corporate events for large businesses such as Yahoo!, weddings and birthday parties, to last-minute photo shoots and film productions. We also are responsible for generating tens of thousands of dollars in revenue for property owners. It's really a win-win for everyone."

Some of the notable venues available in Atlanta include Atlanta Acropolis, a private estate with nearly two acres of outdoor space -- featured in the movie "Zombieland"; the private 14,000 acre Little River Plantation hunting lodge and The Corry House, the 1860's historic home near Union Point.

Examples of some of the outstanding Eventup venues located in other parts of the country include Madison Square Garden, ABC's "The Bachelor" Villa De La Vina mansion, Radio City Music Hall, Al Capone's former residence and Marilyn Monroe's former Los Angeles home.
