Icelandic Group Appoints Managing Director of Corporate Development

Jón Gardar Gudmundsson Rejoins Icelandic Group to Strenghten Position in International Seafood Markets

Icelandic Group, the leading international seafood company of Iceland, announced today that Jón Gardar Gudmundsson has been appointed Managing Director of Corporate Development. The appointment marks the return of Jón Gardar to Icelandic Group, having served as CFO of subsidiary Icelandic Iberica in Spain from 1999 to 2003. Mr. Gudmundsson has an accomplished work history of providing advisory services to international seafood organisations, most recently as Managing Director of Glacier Securities LLC. Prior to his time at Glacier Securities, Jón Gardar held the post of Managing Director for Glitnir Bank where he led numerous projects with major companies in the seafood industries in the Americas, Asia and Europe.

Since 2008 Jón Gardar Gudmundsson has been the Managing Director and Senior Advisor at Glacier Securities LLC New York based corporate finance advisory with a focus on the fisheries and acquaculture industries. From 2003 to 2008 Jón Gardar worked at Glitnir Bank including his position as Managing Director within International Banking where he led multiple seafood projects, most notably the listing of Peruvian company Copeinca on the Oslo Stock Exchange, loans to EuroPacifico in Spain, financing AquaChile's acquisition of Aguas Claras, and the sale of Good Harbor Fillets to American Seafoods. Mr. Guðmundsson has an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Iceland and an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona. He is fluent in both Spanish and English.
