Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Vserv.mobi Energizes Indian Mobile App Development Ecosystem

HYDERABAD and MUMBAI, December 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

Announces Cash Prize of Rs. 1 Lakh for Hackathon Session at AppFest 2012, Hyderabad

Vserv.mobi, a leading Global Mobile Ad network, reiterated its commitment to energise the developer ecosystem by announcing a cash prize of Rs. 100,000  for the winner of the Hackathon session at India's first IAMAI AppFest event scheduled from 13-15th December 2012. Representing one of the tracks for AppFest 2012, Hackathon is a team based coding marathon running over 24 hrs. to create an app based on a specific idea.

Commenting on the event, Binay Tiwari, Head - Global Marketing, Vserv.mobi said, "Vserv.mobi is commited to pushing forward the mobile internet ecosystem by enabling powerful monetization for App Developers. We have tirelessly worked to demonstrate the monetization opportunity on mobile - including initiatives such as 'Developer of the Week', which showcases success stories of our developer partners across the world. With our AppFest Hackathon cash prize initiative, we want to bring together the App Developer community in India and encourage their efforts to trigger the next round of innovation. Over the next year we will further expand this initiative to our other global geographies."

A Gartner report suggests that the Indian mobile apps market is pegged at nearly Rs. 750 crore ($150 million) with a steady growth in downloads across various platforms. Other reports suggest that India has the third largest base of developers in the world, after the US and China. In this context, the mobile developer community needs to follow ingenious monetization strategies that are based on the realities of Indian app consumption patterns to drive greater downloads.

Since its inception, Vserv.mobi has built solutions by leveraging its solid understanding of emerging markets and mapping it to the monetization challenges of developers in emerging markets like India. Typically, developers enable ads on their apps through the traditional way of integrating an SDK, which is a tedious process that requires significant source code changes and even app layout changes. Also to enable other forms of monetisation such as paid in-app purchases, the developer has to integrate additional SDKs. The company's flagship AppWrapper technology dramatically simplifies this and enables comprehensive app monetization in just one click, without any coding. In July this year, the company created a unique variant of the AppWrapper platform in the form of Paid Monetization models. This makes Vserv.mobi the first and only company to offer comprehensive App monetization in One Click, across both - micro-transaction based paid models and premium advertising based monetization - to create a compelling App monetization approach for developers.

Resultantly, the company has enabled developers across metros and smaller towns of India to earn money from both feature phone and smartphone apps. Having monetized over 10,000 Apps, developers are earning unprecedented global revenues powered by Vserv.mobi AppWrapper. A case in point is Twist Mobile, an Indore-based mobile app development company that has seen tremendous growth in it's global revenues powered by AppWrapper and recently got Series A funding as well. Another example is VenkatRamanan Ramasubramanian, a student developer from Trichy, who reportedly was earning 15 times than his job salary, from App revenues powered by the AppWrapper.

Organized under the aegis of IAMAI, AppFest is a first of its kind forum for all stakeholders in the Indian apps economy. AppFest 2012 will have three tracks - Talkathon, Hackathon and Challengathon. Developers will be able to share ideas on technology, revenue models and current opportunities with each other. It will also provide an opportunity to participants to compete and create on-spot customised solutions for brands present and immediate opportunity to work with them on larger projects.
