Orlando Plastic Surgeon Adopts Innovative Tool for Patient Education

ORLANDO, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 12/13/12 -- Dr. James A Matas, a practitioner of Orlando plastic surgery, has integrated state-of-the-art TouchMD technology into his practice. TouchMD is an innovative device designed to increase patient education, which seeks to make the most of a patient's time while at a doctor's office. The software's mission aligns with Dr. Matas' stated goal of compassionately prioritizing the patient and offering up-to-date, factual information.

TouchMD, a patient education software, is a system that aims to reduce wasteful patient downtime at the doctor's office. The product offers the opportunity to enhance doctor-patient relationships by allowing patients to utilize their wait time in the exam room in a productive manner. As opposed to the standard magazine or television, TouchMD provides an interactive alternative patients can use to research their personalized interests right in the doctor's office. The software delivers information about potential outcomes for procedures ranging from tummy tuck to face lift, all with an interface that is easy to navigate.

Dr. Matas, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Orlando, believes that if patients are given a tool to educate themselves in the exam room before he arrives, communication during consultations is greatly improved. He also views TouchMD as a tool he can use during the consultation itself to offer a visual overview of the anatomical area under discussion, along with examples of the pre and post-operative appearances of each particular type of surgery. Patients can continue to access the information Touch MD provides from their home computer through a web portal. This remote access allows patients to revisit the information they discussed with the doctor after they have left the office. Ultimately, the Advanced Centre For Plastic Surgery, Dr. Matas' Orlando practice, welcomes TouchMD as a secure method for patients to review and share information about their experiences regardless of whether they are undergoing liposuction or a breast lift.
