ControlScan Expands to EMEA with Foregenix Alliance

Specialist Payment Card Industry (PCI) security service providers ControlScan and Foregenix have formed a strategic alliance to deliver a market-leading suite of technology solutions to acquiring banks and merchant service providers working with small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In the U.S. marketplace, Atlanta-based ControlScan is recognized for its expertise in helping SMBs understand, navigate and complete their obligations of the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS). London-based Foregenix conducts a variety of PCI and security-related assessments as well as post-breach investigations throughout the EMEA region. Both organizations are relied upon by acquiring banks and merchant service providers to reduce their associated risk in working with SMB merchants.

“The strategic alliance between ControlScan and Foregenix represents a significant combination of payment security expertise, delivered on an international scale,” said Joan Herbig, CEO of ControlScan. “ControlScan’s entrance into the global marketplace is a natural progression; data thieves don’t operate on a localized basis and neither should the effort to stop them.”

ControlScan and Foregenix will work together to provide a full suite of proven technologies and expert services that increase SMBs’ awareness and implementation of information security best practices. Foregenix will extend ControlScan’s PCI 1-2-3 and CRE solutions to acquiring banks and service providers throughout the EMEA region, helping the merchants they serve easily analyze and validate compliance with a simplified self-assessment questionnaire, vulnerability scanning, security awareness training and more.

“Our forensic investigation experience shows that there is a universal need to secure payment data properly, and SMB merchants pose the biggest challenge,” said Benj Hosack, director and co-founder, Foregenix. “Our alliance with ControlScan enables us to offer combined technologies and services that have proven effective in strengthening these merchants’ security posture.”
