CHICAGO, Dec. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CAHG has won a Global Award for the third year in a row, and is the only US professional healthcare agency to do so in the last three consecutive years. This year's win, announced last Thursday by The Global Awards for Healthcare Communications at a New York City event, was in the Art and Technique – Special Effects category for a video developed for Merck's Victrelis, a treatment for hepatitis C. In true global spirit, award winners were also celebrated at an event in Sydney, Australia, also on the evening of December 6. (Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20120328/CG76467LOGO) "We are proud to have won a Global three years in a row," said Scott Cotherman, President and CEO, CAHG and Chairman, TBWA\WorldHealth. "It is such an honor to be recognized as a top US creative agency by the most prestigious international awards show in our industry." Last year's Global Award to CAHG was in the Best Film/Video category for Merck's vaccine RotaTeq, and in 2010 CAHG won a Global Award in the Professional Convention Booth category for an unbranded hypertension awareness campaign for Takeda Pharmaceuticals. The Victrelis video is part of an integrated global campaign, created to ensure strategic consistencies across all geographies. Launched in 2011, Victrelis is a new way to treat the more than 170 million people worldwide infected by hepatitis C. The benefits of Victrelis were communicated with a powerful image of a fencing duel, with one fencer portraying a physician demonstrating the precise power of Victrelis over the other fencer representing the hepatitis C enemy. Robin Shapiro, CAHG EVP, Chief Creative Officer, explained that the most compelling global campaigns are rooted in a strong brand narrative, one that requires very few words, yet simply and visually communicates a compelling story. "We strive to create brand narratives that are every bit as surprising, engaging and visually stunning as a feature film, complete with the most sophisticated special effect techniques," she said. "Winning a Global in the category of Art and Technique means we are achieving our vision." Now in its 18th year, The Global Awards for Healthcare Communications are recognized as the industry's top awards dedicated to excellence in healthcare communications on an international basis. The Globals have achieved the status of the world's most coveted honor in this field. The 2012 Global Awards received entries from 21 countries. Judging sessions were conducted worldwide and online by a panel of international industry experts, representing the top creative minds in the field of healthcare advertising.
