Solekai Systems Unveils Porting Program Using RDK from Comcast

Solekai Systems Corp. (Solekai) announced today that it has licensed the Reference Development Kit (RDK) from Comcast Corp (CMCSA) and is providing expertise for rapid platform porting and integration activities. The RDK is a full-featured software bundle based on industry standards intended to accelerate the development of next-generation set-top boxes. Solekai, an engineering services company specializing in STB and digital video solutions, will support the implementation of the RDK in set-top development, multiscreen integration and bitstream testing solutions.

The RDK from Comcast is a pre-integrated software bundle that creates a common framework for powering tru2way®, IP or hybrid set-top boxes and gateway devices and accelerates the development and deployment of next-generation video services. Comcast licenses the RDK to OEMs, SIs, SOCs, software vendors as well as MVPDs to create a community of innovators focused on bringing rich, multi-screen TV home entertainment experiences to consumers faster.
