Mr. Dickey Joins the Party at Dickey's in Boca Raton
Chairman of Dickey's Barbecue Surprises Local Florida Owner

BOCA RATON, Fla., Dec. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit is throwing a smokin' hot celebration at their Boca Raton location on Friday, December 14 at 11 a.m. Roland Dickey, Sr., chairman of Dickey's Barbecue and author of "Mr. Dickey's Barbecue Cookbook" will be at the event, giving the first 50 people a copy of his cookbook.

"Mr. Dickey is a true Texas pit master and having him host our grand opening is such a privilege," said Boca Raton owner Carol Vu. "I can't wait for Boca Raton to meet him!"

At the grand opening, customers will indulge in $1 Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join the celebration at 21073 Powerline Road between Glades Road and Palmetto Park. For more information call the store at 561-288-3490.

"This has been an exciting time for us," said Vu. "Just a few months ago I was in Barbecue University and now I'm serving authentic pit smoked barbecue to my local community."

Dickey's Barbecue Pit is building momentum all over the state of Florida.  Currently, the world's largest barbecue franchise has eight locations in Florida and is planning on adding at least two more locations in the coming months.

About Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants

Dickey's Barbecue was founded by Travis Dickey with the goal of authentic slow smoked barbecue. More than 70 years later, the Dallas-based family run barbecue franchise still offers a quality selection of signature meats, home style sides, tangy barbecue sauce and free kids meals every Sunday.  All meats are slow smoked on site in each restaurant.  The fast-casual family-friendly concept has expanded to over 270 locations in 43 states and holds the title of the world's largest barbecue franchise. This year Nation's Restaurant News named Dickey's "Top Five Growth Chains" and they were also named "Best Franchise Deal" by QSR Magazine.  For more information, visit or for franchise opportunities call (866) 340-6188.
