Atlantic Records Artists Score an Array of Grammy Nominations in Stunning Assortment of Categories; Label Group's Artists Receive 29 Top Nominations; fun. Among the Year's Most Nominated Artists, Including Nods in All Four of the Top Categories; Other Top

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 12/06/12 -- The Atlantic Records Group has earned a stunning variety of nominations at the upcoming 55th Annual Grammy Awards. Atlantic Records Group artists and recordings earned 29 major nods, including nominations in all four principal categories.

Fueled By Ramen recording group fun. is among the year's most-nominated artists with six total nominations, among them an ever-prestigious nod as "Best New Artist." The band's acclaimed debut, "SOME NIGHTS," was nominated as "Album of the Year" and "Best Pop Vocal Album," while the worldwide #1 single, "We Are Young (Feat. Janelle Monáe)," was named in the "Record of the Year," "Song of the Year," and "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" categories. What's more, producer Jeff Bhasker is among the "Producer of the Year, Non-Classical" nominees, specifically honoring his work on "SOME NIGHTS," while Wondaland/Bad Boy/Atlantic recording artist Janelle Monáe received a total of three nods for her featured role on "We Are Young" and "SOME NIGHTS."

OWSLA/Big Beat/Atlantic recording artist Skrillex continues to rule over the Dance/Electronica categories, following last year's three-trophy triumph with a new trio of major nominations. "BANGARANG" was included among the "Best Dance/Electronica Album" nominees, with the album's title track, "Bangarang Feat. Sirah," also an Atlantic artist, named in the "Best Dance Recording" category. In addition, Skrillex's remix of Nero's "Promises (Skrillex & Nero Remix)" received a "Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical" nod.

Atlantic Nashville recording artist Hunter Hayes was feted in three leading categories, including "Best New Artist," "Best Country Album" (for "HUNTER HAYES"), and "Best Country Solo Performance," honoring the #1 smash hit, "Wanted."

Rostrum/Atlantic recording artist Wiz Khalifa scored a pair of nods, including "Best Rap Song" -- for Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa's "Young, Wild & Free (Feat. Bruno Mars)" -- and "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance," marking his featured role on Maroon 5's "Payphone (Feat. Wiz Khalifa)." Atlantic recording artist -- and previous Grammy Award-winner -- Bruno Mars earned a "Best Rap Song" nomination for his aforementioned role on "Young, Wild & Free (Feat. Bruno Mars)" while Atlantic artist Ty Dolla $ign (aka Tyrone Griffin) was nominated for his writing credit on this track.

An eclectic array of Atlantic Group artists received individual nominations, including Elektra recording artist Ed Sheeran, who received a "Song of the Year" nod for his phenomenal "The A Team." Songbook/Atlantic's Trey Songz was also honored for his songwriting, picking up a "Best R&B Song" nomination for "Heart Attack."

Southern Ground/Atlantic recording group Zac Brown Band's "UNCAGED" was nominated as "Best Country Album," while 1st & 15th/Atlantic recording artist Lupe Fiasco's "FOOD & LIQUOR II: THE GREAT AMERICAN RAP ALBUM PT. 1" was included among the "Best Rap Album" nominees.

Poe Boy/Atlantic recording artist Flo Rida picked up a "Best Rap/Sung Collaboration" nod for the international chart-topper, "Wild Ones (Feat. Sia)." Home School/Atlantic recording artist Estelle received a nomination for "Best R&B Performance," honoring her successful single, "Thank You." VP/Atlantic's Sean Paul's "TOMAHAWK TECHNIQUE" was nominated as "Best Reggae Album," marking his fourth consecutive album to be named in that category.

Atlantic's own Halestorm scored a "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" nomination for their breakthrough single, "Love Bites (And So Do I)." Also nominated in the "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" category is "Whose Life (Is It Anyways?)," by Roadrunner recording group Megadeth.

Additionally, "LOVE IS A FOUR LETTER WORD," from Atlantic recording artist Jason Mraz, is among the year's "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical" nominees (celebrating the work of engineers Joe Chiccarelli, Steve Churchyard, Lars Fox, Graham Hope, Tony Maserati, and Morgan Stratton, as well as mastering engineer Bob Ludwig). Neon/Axtone/Big Beat's "In My Mind (Axwell Remix)" -- performed by Ivan Gough & Feenixpaul Feat. Georgi Kay and remixed by Axel Hedfors -- was nominated as "Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical." Finally, "STORM CORROSION" -- the self-titled Roadrunner debut from Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt and Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson -- received a nomination as "Best Surround Sound Album," honoring Wilson's work as surround mix engineer, surround mastering engineer, and surround producer.

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 10th, 2013 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS from 8-11:30 pm (PT/ET).
