Government Security News Names Vumii Imaging as a Winner in GSN's 4th Annual Homeland Security Awards Competition

At the 4th Annual Homeland Security Awards gala dinner that drew hundreds of government officials and industry executives to the Washington Convention Center on November 29, Government Security News announced Vumii’s Accuracii 1500 as the 2012 winner of Best Thermal / Night Vision / Infrared Cameras category.

The winners were selected by a panel of objective judges, according to Mr. Jacob Goodwin, Editor-in-Chief of Government Security News. "We received an outstanding group of entries and have handed winners’ plaques to an exceptional group of companies and government agencies," said Goodwin.

Vumii's Accuracii 1500 is a unique long-range visible and thermal channel surveillance camera system that incorporates one of the longest focal length optics ever available on an uncooled thermal imager. Accuracii 1500 uses a 25mm-225mm continuous zoom thermal lens on Vumii's proprietary 640x480 17 micron thermal processing engine, capable of sharp contrast imaging 24/7 and auto-focus for easy user control and integration. Not only can this thermal camera provide human detection level information at 5.7km, but also human recognition level details at 1.5km day or night.

“The Vumii team is thrilled from the recognition of both receiving this GSN award and the initial orders already received from international customers for Accuracii 1500,” said Randall Foster, CEO of Vumii. “The market interest is tremendous for such a truly versatile, powerful, and economical uncooled thermal camera system. Vumii aims to be a technology pioneer and it appears as if we have achieved that goal with this Accuracii model,” added Foster.
