Health Dialog Receives Top Honors in the 2012 International MarCom Awards Competition

Health Dialog today announced that three of its decision aids, along with its HD Care Compass™ website, received recognition for outstanding creative achievement in the 2012 MarCom Awards Competition. Health Dialog received two platinum awards, the competition’s highest honor, and two gold awards.

The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), who administer the MarCom awards, recognized the HD Care Compass™ website with a Platinum Award in the medical website category. The decision aid “Help for Anxiety: Treatments that Work” also received a Platinum Award in the medical video/film category, and the decision aids “Help for Long-term Sleep Problems” and “Cataracts: Is Surgery Right for You?” received Gold Awards in the medical web video and medical writing categories, respectively.

“We are pleased that our Shared Decision Making tools continue to be recognized for their role in delivering expertise and advice to patients in a straightforward and engaging manner. We remain committed to offering a series of decision aids that come in multiple formats, including easy-to-understand DVDs, web modules and booklets to help patients make the decisions that best align with their lifestyles, preferences, and values,” said Peter Goldbach, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Health Dialog.

Health Dialog’s award-winning suite of patient decision aids cover a broad range of topics and are available online and in DVD format. The company’s decision aids are currently available to more than 15 million individuals and are distributed as part of Health Dialog’s broader Total Population Health Management programs, which include analytics to find the right people in a population, award-winning engagement tools and techniques to catch their attention, and expert health coaches to empower their choices and change their behavior.

Last year at the 2011 MarCom Awards, the company’s Shared Decision Making videos were recognized with one platinum and two gold awards. Health Dialog’s industry-leading patient decision aids have received nearly 70 awards in the past several years.

The MarCom competition is one of the largest of its kind in the world, with more than 6,000 entries this year. The mission of the MarCom Awards is to honor excellence and recognize the creativity, hard work and generosity of marketing and communication professionals. Winners range in size from individual contributors to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. The AMCP presents awards in 200 categories within seven forms of media and communications including marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service/pro bono, creativity and electronic/interactive.
