Lieutenant General (Ret.) Helmick retired from the United States Army in July of 2012 as Commanding General of the XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, capping his accomplished 36-year military career as the leader of America's only Airborne Corps and largest military installation.  Lieutenant General (Ret.) Helmick completed three distinguished tours of duty in Iraq, serving first as Assistant Division Commander, Operations, for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) under then Major General David Petraeus in 2003 and 2004; then as Commanding General of the Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq and the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance (NATO) Training Mission – Iraq; and finally serving as the Deputy Commanding General for Operations with United States Forces – Iraq in 2011, where he was responsible for overseeing the drawdown and redeployment of United States combat forces and the transition to Iraqi sovereignty and Department of State support.  As the Assistant Division Commander, Operations, for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Lieutenant General (Ret.) Helmick was the senior Commander on the ground during the 2004 operation that killed Uday and Qusay Hussein.

Helmick's other military leadership responsibilities have included serving as Commander of the 3rd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division; Commander of the Ranger Training Brigade; and Operations and Intelligence Director for the Directorate of Operations, Combating Terrorism (J–34) of the Joint Staff in the Pentagon.  He is a graduate of both the United States Military Academy at West Point and the United States Army War College and earned a Master's Degree from the Naval Postgraduate School.

"We are very proud of our successful history of twenty-three years of support to the national security community," said Julian M. Setian, SOSi's Chief Executive Officer.  "Frank is an incredibly skilled, experienced and accomplished leader.  It is a privilege to have him on our team to deepen and extend that support."

"I was able to see SOSi's achievements and outstanding way of providing support when they were responsible for several of the most specialized programs in Iraq," said Lieutenant General (Ret.) Helmick.  "I value their integrity, agility, responsiveness, and commitment to their customers.  I joined the team to expand that critical support to even more clients around the world."
