Law Firm Investigates Potential False Advertising Of Browsing Speeds on Amazon Kindle Fire's Silk Web Browser - Seeks Potential Refunds For Customers

NEW YORK, Nov. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Law Office of James C. Kelly is investigating potential claims against Amazon.com for false advertising regarding the marketing and sale of the Amazon Silk Web Browser included within the original Amazon Kindle Fire.

In marketing, advertising, and selling the original Amazon Kindle Fire tablet, Amazon claimed that it developed a new web browsing technology that was available exclusively on the Amazon Kindle Fire through a web browser called "Amazon Silk."  Amazon claimed that Amazon Silk is different from other browsers because, among other things, Amazon's computer servers do much of the work assembling complex web pages downloaded by users, resulting in much faster load times for web pages, compared to traditional browsers on other mobile devices.

Kelly is investigating whether Amazon.com failed to disclose to customers that Amazon's Silk Browser is not faster than traditional web browsers, and whether the new web browsing technology actually provides a slower or similar web browsing experience when compared to traditional web browsers on other mobile devices.
