Drobo Invites Fans to 'Take a Drobo to Work' and Win a New Drobo

SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/27/12 -- Drobo, maker of award-winning data storage products for businesses and professionals, announces the "Take a Drobo to Work" promotion for IT professionals and their friends this holiday season. Fans of Drobo products refer their IT friends to Drobo for a chance to win a Drobo Mini or 5D, the easiest and most advanced storage arrays for creating and working with large amounts of rich media. Entering the contest is as simple as a Drobo itself: just refer at least one "IT friend" to learn more about Drobo technology by attending a live demo -- that's it.

For participating in the demo, both you and the friend will receive an Amazon e-gift card. If the friend buys a Drobo B1200i iSCSI SAN storage solution for their IT environment before midnight on Dec. 31, the referrer automatically wins a Drobo Mini or 5D. The promotion runs until the end of the year and it is open to everyone.

"Having been an IT manager, I know that seeing new technologies or solutions in action is the best way to learn about them and include them in an evolving IT architecture," said Mario Blandini, Chief Evangelist at Drobo. "Drobo has a cult-like following among creative professionals, and 'Take a Drobo to Work' is another way of inviting more IT folks who do not yet know Drobo to experience how BeyondRAID™ technology can make storage easier and more affordable."

Through Dec. 31, the "Take a Drobo to Work" promotion is open to everyone and is full of holiday cheer with several different ways to win a Drobo Mini or 5D on top of Amazon.com cards all around. The Drobo Mini and 5D include high-speed Thunderbolt connectivity, USB 3.0, automated tiering that supports solid state drives (SSDs), enhanced reliability features and true portability. The devices are designed to intelligently and seamlessly use high-performance SSDs with hard disk drives (HDDs) for capacity.

Drobo is a great fit for small and medium business, or departments in larger organizations deploying server virtualization, email, data protection and file backup. The Drobo B800i and B1200i iSCSI SAN arrays integrate seamlessly into a TCP/IP network infrastructure and utilize the industry-standard iSCSI protocol to provide simple, consolidated storage for your servers. The Drobo B800fs connects seamlessly to an existing Ethernet network and supports both Windows and Mac computers. To find out more about Drobo for business, visit www.drobo.com.
