Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Research and Markets: The Global Low-End Mechanical Computer-Aided Design (MCAD) Market to Grow At A CAGR Of 11.65 Percent over the Period 2011-2015

Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/wt8t9q/global_lowend) has announced the addition of the "Global Low-end Mechanical Computer-aided Design Market 2011-2015" report to their offering.

One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the increasing demand for low-end MCAD from developing countries. The Global Low-end MCAD market has also been witnessing the development of integrated low-end MCAD software. However, the decline in the vendors' profit margins could pose a challenge to the growth of this market.

The key vendors dominating this market space are Autodesk Inc., Dassault Systemes SA, Parametric Technology Corp., and Siemens PLM Software Inc.

The other vendors mentioned in the report are: Delcam plc, ESI Group, Geometric Ltd., and MSC Software Corp.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from TechNavio's Engineering team said: ''One of the major trends in the market is the integration of low-end mechanical computer-aided design (MCAD) with other product lifecycle management (PLM) applications. Through this, vendors are reducing the gap between low-end MCAD and other PLM applications, and many of them have already begun to integrate low-end MCAD software with PLM software solutions such as CAD, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and collaborative product definition management (cPDM). Several large PLM vendors are developing such integrated low-end MCAD software to provide end-to-end solutions to their end-users. Thus, large PLM vendors are gaining a competitive edge over small MCAD vendors by providing customized end-to-end solutions.''

According to the report, many manufacturing companies across the globe demand a 3D design of their products before going ahead with the production process. This has led to an increase in the demand for low-end MCAD software. Low-end MCAD software generates accurate and reliable 3D models of products. In addition, manufacturing companies in several developing countries prefer low-end MCAD software to other MCAD software because of the former's cost-efficiency. In addition, it helps vendors to achieve product differentiation in the market. Therefore, the increasing adoption of 3D design designs has led to an increase in the demand for low-end MCAD software.
