Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Be Careful this Thanksgiving, Warns Law Offices of Burg & Brock
Personal injury law firm notes that most serious accidents can be averted with a little common sense

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- It's somewhat traditional to warn readers about traffic and other dangers before a major holiday weekend, but the outstanding legal staff at the Law Offices of Burg & Brock thinks it's a tradition worth continuing. Every year a personal injury lawyer in Los Angeles is confronted with hundreds of serious cases and they know better than most people why safety is crucial. While it's mainly accidents on our highways and streets that causes clients to inquire about the services of a personal injury attorney in Los Angeles, that isn't the entire story. Believe it or not, oil slicks caused by spilled giblet gravy at a family restaurant have been known to lead to severe injuries and a call for a Los Angeles slip and fall lawyer from Burg & Brock. Safety is crucial wherever you go.

Of course, the most common type of accidents resulting in serious injuries is automotive in nature. Every year, holiday automotive mishaps cause countless injuries and far too many deaths. While the statistics can be all too disheartening, the good news is that there are any number of steps the public can take to prevent accidents and serious injuries. Burg & Brock would like to point out that studies have indicated as many as 40,000 Americans may die annually from alcohol-related accidents. If the thought of significantly curbing your holiday consumption of alcohol is too painful and a designated driver isn't available, spending a little extra money for a cab ride home is far less expensive than a DUI charge, much less an accident. Thanksgiving of 2010 saw some 431 traffic deaths over the four day weekend, and some 40 percent of them were alcohol related.

Even if you're driving stone cold sober, being distracted or just a little bit tired can be almost as dangerous as driving while somewhat intoxicated. There are a lot of good reasons for all those laws against driving while using a handheld cell phone and even better ones for not driving while texting. Still, the number of distracting activities drivers engage in can be a bit staggering. Driving while snacking or even drinking an (obviously non-alcoholic) beverage can be a lot more dangerous than you think.

Finally, staying alert to your surroundings is crucial. Try to resist the urge to zone out, mentally argue with the people on your radio, or doing anything else that might dangerously distract you. Be especially careful when driving near the sides of large commercial trucks, which have dangerously large blind spots. Most of all, no matter how safe a driver you think you are, be sure to wear your seat belt at all times. Even the safest driver can be involved in a deadly accident.

Of course, bad things do sometimes happen and if you or a loved one have been involved in an accident and have not been properly compensated, it might be past time to contact the Law Offices of Burg & Brock. For a free initial consultation, visit www.legaldefenders.com or call 888-509-2998.
