First Mobile App/Website to Bridge in-Store, Online and Geo-Local Shopping Across Smartphones, Tablets and Laptops

Start up BuyVia today launched a cloud-based app and website that provide the first all-in-one smart shopping experience across smartphones, tablets and laptops/desktops. BuyVia is the first company to bridge the online and brick-and-mortar shopping worlds, and uncluttering the buying process, and eliminating tedious product research and deal trolling. Consumers can quickly and easily find quality consumer electronic products at the best price and sync their online and in-store shopping search history and preferences. And BuyVia provides the only completely unbiased shopping experience, uncovering hidden online values or in-store deals that wouldn’t otherwise be discovered.

“As mobile and online shopping continue to explode, so has the volume and inconsistent quality of shopping tools, leaving consumers feeling overwhelmed with the glut of information they have to sort through to find the products they desire,” said Norman Fong, Co-Founder and CEO of BuyVia. “People spend hours sorting through a large number of review, e-commerce, coupon and deal sites. And even when they find deals for the products they want, they really don’t know if they’ve actually found the best product and value combination out there. BuyVia is not limited by hidden relationships and we provide a free, concierge-like app and website that does all the searching and vetting you’d normally have to do online or by visiting stores. We’ve made smart shopping transparent, easy, and painless.”

Through a visual interface akin to the Apple and Pinterest aesthetic, BuyVia intelligently learns about each consumer’s product and pricing preferences and then delivers the most relevant/personalized deals available--without vendor or brand bias (many deal sites and retail stores have private partnerships that incentivize and limit the deals presented to customers). Bargain hunting happens in real time and as an automated background task across all devices. Consumers simply set product preferences, a desired price, develop a shopping list and all this information is automatically populated across all their devices and instantly updated no matter where they are. Then, whether they’re using their smartphone or tablet on the go or are at home using their laptop, BuyVia immediately alerts them when their pre-selected products are found at the desired price—even when they are walking or driving by a local store. This allows them to learn about online and in-store deals that would otherwise be invisible to them. BuyVia also scans QR and UPC codes, searching for the best price, and this in-store product and price information is instantly synced across you’re your devices. When an in store coupon is found, it appears with a bar code to be scanned for instant redemption.

BuyVia respects users’ privacy by deleting searches automatically conducted at old locations via a custom API. BuyVia preserves battery life by updating product information only when there’s a significant change in location and only if the consumer allows it, unlike other geo-located apps which deplete the mobile device battery.

BuyVia announced that products and deals will be available through charter partners Amazon.com, HP, NewEgg, PriceGrabber, Dell, Milo, TigerDirect, Sony etc., but because of BuyVia’s unbiased approach, any product and deal available anywhere on the Internet will be delivered to app and website users.

The BuyVia app is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch via the Apple App Store. Initially the company will focus on technology products, but due to the extensibility of the technology platform, BuyVia will offer its shopping tools across additional verticals in the future.
