Toys"R"Us® Unveils Redesigned Mobile Shopping Apps And Site; Introduces Optimized Experience For Tablet Users
Updated Mobile Shopping Capabilities Now Allow Customers to Take Advantage of Popular Omnichannel Services Like "Buy Online, Pick Up In Store" and "Ship to Store" While On-the-Go

WAYNE, N.J., Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Toys"R"Us, Inc. today announced that it has redesigned its mobile shopping apps and mobile-optimized sites for Toys"R"Us® and Babies"R"Us,® providing an enhanced experience for customers looking to shop the world's leading dedicated toy and baby products retailer from wherever they are. The company has also launched a new tablet-optimized site providing tablet users easy access to the two trusted brands.

Additionally, customers can now take advantage of some of the company's popular omnichannel services, including "Buy Online, Pick Up In Store" and "Ship to Store," through their smartphones and tablets. The company's enhanced mobile shopping capabilities offer a unified shopping cart as shoppers are able to navigate seamlessly between Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us within the app and optimized sites. The redesigned mobile shopping apps are now available for free download in the App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android.

"As more and more customers use their mobile devices to browse and shop with us, we have worked to enhance this channel by redesigning our mobile site and apps, and have launched a tablet-optimized experience, making it even easier to shop Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us while on-the-go," said Milton Pappas, Vice President, e-Commerce Customer Experience. "With the addition of 'Buy Online, Pick Up In Store' to our mobile offerings, busy parents and gift-givers can place an order while out and about and pick it up at their local store within three hours – perfect for last-minute purchases leading up to Christmas."

In 2009, the company introduced mobile shopping options providing busy shoppers convenient access to its Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us brands from any web-enabled device. Since then, time-strapped customers have been able to shop the mobile-enabled "R"Us sites, and take advantage of the company's dedicated apps. Mobile is the company's fastest growing channel of customer engagement, and Toys"R"Us continues to look for ways to enhance its mobile capabilities. Customers can search and browse products, read reviews and item descriptions, view video content and place an order conveniently while on-the-go. The mobile app and optimized sites mirror the search functionality of the company's trusted e-commerce sites and allow users to search by Category, Age, Character/Theme, Brand, What's New and Clearance. Babies"R"Us shoppers can also browse by Top Registry Items.

App Offers New Barcode/QR Code Scanner for Users to Access Product Details Instantly

By scanning a product's barcode, customers will be directed to a page where they can see product details and user reviews and will be able to add the item to their shopping cart quickly.

Fast Access to Local Ads and Deals
Shoppers using a mobile device or tablet can enter their zip code to view the weekly ad and deals for their area. In addition, they can save their "home store" under the store locator function to be automatically directed to the weekly ad for their area.

Customers can also get instant access to new deals and savings through the company's "R" Mobile Messaging program.  Each week exciting coupons, events and savings for Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us are sent directly to enrolled customers' mobile phones. SMS messages are sent up to twice per week, and highlight some of the most compelling savings currently available.  Customers can text "DEALS" to 78697 to receive Toys"R"Us offers, "DEALS" to 72229 for Babies"R"Us offers and "EEDEALS" to 78697 to receive special notifications regarding electronics and entertainment offers.*
