Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

ADEPT Driver CEO to Speak at Driving School Conference
teenSMART® and Lifelong Driver® Programs Use Science to Improve Driver Safety

SAVANNAH, Ga., Nov. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The CEO of ADEPT Driver, a California company that makes driver safety programs that are proven to reduce crashes, will deliver an address on Saturday to driving school owners about the science of improving driver safety.

Dr. Richard Harkness, the CEO of ADEPT Driver, will give a speech on November 10 titled, "Cognitive Factors: Understanding the Distracted Brain" at the Driving School Association of the Americas (DSAA) 2012 conference. The DSAA is an international association of driving school owners. The association's goals are to improve driver safety and encourage professional ethics in the industry. The DSAA conference is in Savannah, GA.

"There is a tragic epidemic of car accidents among teen drivers, who have the highest crash rate of the driving population. Drivers age 70 and above have the second highest crash rate after teens. ADEPT used a medical model to identify the leading causes of car crashes for teen drivers and drivers over 55. We used this scientific approach to help teen and mature drivers overcome these specific causes of crashes." said Dr. Richard Harkness, CEO of ADEPT Driver. "I am looking forward to sharing the science behind the teenSMART and Lifelong Driver programs with driving school professionals."

teenSMART and Lifelong Driver are proven crash reduction programs that improve drivers' skills and help teens and mature drivers recognize and avoid risk when they are driving. Both include computer based training, point-of-view driving simulations, interactive video segments, at-home activities, and optional in-car exercises.

teenSMART has been clinically proven to reduce teen driver crashes by up to 30%. Teens that complete the program have fewer traffic citations, fewer and less severe accidents, and fewer deductible payouts. A number of leading insurance companies offer a discount for teenSMART completion, including Allstate, AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah Insurance Exchange, Liberty Mutual, MAPFRE, American Commerce, and Commerce Insurance.

Lifelong Driver allows mature drivers to remain safely in the driver's seat longer and maintain their lifestyle and independence by using real-life driving situations to improve driving skills.
