Country Star Tim McGraw Hails the Nation's Heroes at a Surprise Veterans' Day Lunch

BRENTWOOD, TN--(Marketwire - November 09, 2012) -  Tim McGraw, music world superstar and actor, celebrated Veterans' Day with a surprise visit to Nashville area veterans and their families at a lunch organized by Outback Steakhouse®.

McGraw, who is also featured in "People" this week with relatives who have served in the military, said, "It is important to take time out to recognize and thank those in the military every day, but especially today."

Outback worked closely with Operation Homefront, the national non-profit organization that provides emergency help to returning veterans, in organizing the lunch.

"Outback and Tim McGraw have been great supporters, who share our commitment to the troops," Amy Palmer, Chief Programs and Field Operations officer for Operation Homefront.

Outback began its partnership with Operation Homefront more than three years ago and has donated over $2 million since 2010. "Outback Steakhouse is dedicated to supporting our troops and the mission of Operation Homefront," Mike Kappitt, Outback Steakhouse Chief. "Tim McGraw is a great partner in our effort to honor our nation's heroes."

The veterans at the lunch picked from a new weekend menu that features soup or salad and a choice of chicken quesadillas, the Outback burger, prime rib dip sandwich or chicken artichoke flatbread. Veterans and active duty members get 10 percent off from Veterans' Day through the end of the year.
