Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Market Research Report -- Global Wound Care Market Worth Around $20 Billion

ROCKVILLE, MD -- (Marketwire) -- 11/09/12 -- MarketResearch.com has announced the addition of the report "The Future of Nutritional Support for Wound Healing," to their collection of market reports.

Chronic wounds are notoriously difficult to treat and, despite a high level of innovation in the wound care market, there is little evidence that any treatment offers a genuine, cost-effective solution. The global wound care market is estimated to be worth around $20bn and will be driven by innovative condition-specific, nutrition-based products and formulations.

Protein, select amino acids (particularly arginine), trace elements and vitamin C feature prominently in clinical nutrition support solutions. Evidence suggests that diets containing arginine and fish oil (omega 3) significantly reduces wound complications following surgery. New nutraceutical ingredients, such as antioxidant botanicals, enzymes (most notably bromelain) and Ayurvedic medicines feature in dietary supplements targeting wound care. Traditional Chinese medicine ingredients, meanwhile, are receiving a significant amount of attention in new product development, as shown by a review of the patent landscape. Companies with ongoing trials include Abbott, Fresenius Kabi, Nutricia and Nestlé. A number of trials are attempting to differentiate the effects of individual nutrients. However, many trials are small scale, which calls into question the statistical power of these studies in detecting the size of the effect of the study intervention.
