SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/08/12 -- On Sunday, November 4th, Imaging Healthcare Specialists participated in the Komen San Diego Race for the Cure in Balboa Park to raise valuable funds for breast cancer research and local patient programs. As part of their continued commitment to women's health, Imaging Healthcare Specialists partnered with the Council of Community Clinics, bringing together a team of 110 walkers and runners in support of those affected by this terrible disease while working toward ending breast cancer forever.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) and the American College of Radiology recommends that all women should undergo annual screening mammography beginning at age 40. With 1 in 8 women being diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and 3/4 of women diagnosed having no family history or other factors putting them at high risk, the Know Your Curves campaign emphasizes the significance of annual mammograms and clinical breast exams for all women beginning at age 40.
