Proceeds from raffle will go towards Caritas of Austin

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The annual ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot has some extra incentive for participants this year. In addition to the full proceeds from the race going to Caritas of Austin, an Austin TX Honda dealership has also stepped up with a large donation. Howdy Honda is donating a brand new 2013 Honda Accord as the grand prize for the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot Raffle, with 100% of raffle ticket sales going towards Caritas of Austin. The Turkey Trot takes place Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22 at The Long Center at 701 W. Riverside Drive in Austin.

The Turkey Trot event has been a tradition in Austin for 22 years. Last year's event raised more than $260,000 for Caritas of Austin – a local non-profit that proves food, housing, employment and education for those in poverty in the area. The organization serves more than 20,000 adults and children each year and has been doing so for over 47 years.

Raffle tickets for the 2013 Honda Accord from Howdy Honda are $25. Interested participants can obtain tickets online. The winner will be announced at the Howdy Honda dealership on Nov. 28.

The Stepping Stone School Kids K starts at 8:45 a.m. and the 5-mile run begins at 9:30 a.m. There will also be an untimed 5-mile run in addition to a 1-mile run. For event details and to register, go to www.thundercloud.com.

Those looking for more information on the race and raffle can call Iris Claudio at Howdy Honda at 512-443-4300. Howdy Honda can also be visited online at www.howdyhonda.com.
