Mount Airy Pool Project Set to Make a Major Splash
Pocono casino and resort adding luxury $5 million amenity

MOUNT POCONO, Pa., Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Officials at Mount Airy Casino Resort – Pennsylvania's only AAA Four Diamond-rated casino – today revealed plans for its impending $5 million luxury indoor/ outdoor pool project.

"We are excited to share details of this highly anticipated project that we are sure will create the sense of a lavish oasis, even in the middle of January," said John Culetsu, Mount Airy's Executive Vice President and General Manager. "Besides adding another jewel to our existing crown of resort amenities such as our spa, golf course and fine dining options, this spectacular enhancement will also create jobs."

Pending township permit approval, the project will provide between 75 to 100 construction related jobs, according to CECO Associates, the project's contracted engineering firm. Once completed, the pool area will employ approximately 20 additional full-time Mount Airy employees including but not limited to food and beverage servers, maintenance workers, lifeguards and entertainment personnel.

"This $5 million pool project goes well beyond a pool," Culetsu pointed out.

In addition to the 11,000 square foot, four season pool that features a passage allowing guests to swim continuously from indoors to outdoors, highlights of the 52,000 square-foot project include: 'WET,' a sophisticated poolside bar and lounge area offering an assortment of light dining as well as after-dark entertainment options;  Private luxury cabanas replete with day beds and television sets; A heated spa conjoining the pool and an assortment of water features and  sculptures; A 5,600 square foot outdoor deck area with table-side fire pits and expansive views of the resort's lake and golf course.

"The finishes in the pool area will be an extension of the contemporary yet elegant details that already encompass the hotel, casino and spa," explained Lisa DeNaples, Mount Airy owner and managing trustee. "The space will not only reflect the high-end building materials and design elements we've utilized throughout the resort; it will also provide guests an energizing transformation as they exit the cool tranquility of the spa area and enter into this exciting new indoor/outdoor addition."
