Golf Galaxy Announces Grand Opening Celebration in Grapevine, Texas
PGA Tour Professional, Hunter Mahan, to appear Friday

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Golf Galaxy, a full-line state-of-the-art, interactive golf retailer, invites the community of Grapevine, Texas to its three-day grand opening weekend. The store will begin the celebration on Fri., Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. at the retailer's new location at 2100 West Northwest Highway. Special extended store hours will also be in effect for Friday (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.), Saturday (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

To celebrate the grand opening festivities, Golf Galaxy has scheduled a variety of appearances and giveaways including: PGA Professional Hunter Mahan on-site Friday on behalf of PING from 6 – 7:30 p.m., PGA Professional Tommy Armour III on-site Friday on behalf of Adams from 12 – 3 p.m., Golf Channel personality Lauren Thompson Friday from 3 - 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m.2 p.m., and courtesy of Callaway, a Friday short-game clinic with Roger Cleveland from 4 – 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 - 2 p.m.

"We've been looking forward to bringing this new Golf Galaxy location to the Grapevine community," said Chad Smoak, Golf Galaxy Vice President, Marketing. "The new facility will provide top-of-the-line brands and products and services to golfers of all levels, helping them to enhance their skills in all facets of the game."

Each day from Friday to Sunday, there will be hourly giveaways provided by some of the top brands in the industry. Brand representatives will also be on-site throughout the weekend to discuss their product and the game. Companies present will include NIKE, Garmin®, Pride Sports™, Callaway Golf®, TaylorMade Golf, Titleist®, SkyCaddie®, COBRA Golf, Adams Golf, Mizuno, PING, and Sunice®.

Attendees will also have the chance to take part in a putting, driving, and closest to the pin challenge for a chance at a Golf Galaxy gift card. The first 100 adults to attend each day will receive a gift valued at approximately $30 that includes a golf towel, accessory kit, divot repair tool, and poker chip.

Additionally, the first 100 consumers to arrive on Sunday will receive a Golf Galaxy "Mystery Gift Card" with an unmarked denomination.  One lucky winner's card will be valued at $250.*

Other giveaways throughout the weekend include a pair of Oakley RadarLock Pitch Sunglasses, a Garmin Approach S1 GPS Wristwatch, a custom fit set of PING irons, a free round of golf provided by GolfNow, a SkyCaddie GPS, and a pink PING G20 driver autographed by Bubba Watson.

In the store, customers will be able to meet with certified in-store PGA/LPGA professionals and experience 14 hitting bays, the retailer's largest club tech workshop, dedicated women's shop, and Scoring Corner which features expert wedge gapping and fitting.  More details on all promotions will be available at the store location.  

The Grapevine location will represent Golf Galaxy's sixth store in the state of Texas and its 81st nationwide.
