I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

dealchecker.co.uk: Book Early to Enjoy Cheap Christmas Holidays
Hotels and airlines tempt early-bird bookers with low prices

LONDON, November 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

-Hotels and airlines tempt early-bird bookers with low prices-

Since 4.25 million Brits ventured abroad for the Christmas holidays in 2011 - a number equivalent to more than half the population of greater London - leading online holiday specialists dealchecker.co.uk say that popular destinations such as Las Vegas and Spain are offering cheap early-bird holiday deals to attract revellers during the festive period.

The holiday price comparison site warns that prices are rising every day, with some fares increasing as much as 20 per cent in the past week, so it's best to book Christmas and New Year holidays as early as possible to secure the best deals. British tourists are certainly in the market for cheap Christmas holiday deals this year; compared to the same period last year, dealchecker.co.uk have seen a 127 per cent jump in searches for cheap holidays.

Travellers looking for a sunny Christmas break can find amazing early-bird deals on cheap holidays to Spain, which are currently on offer for less than the price of a Kindle Fire. Spain's sunshine destinations - such as Lanzarote or Benidorm - cut rates dramatically in the off season to attract visitors; enjoy a seven-night holiday in Benidorm between Christmas and New Year from only £136 pp.

Revellers will try their luck in Las Vegas this New Year's Eve, but don't leave it late and gamble on prices; early bookers can currently snap up seven-night holidays to Las Vegas from Manchester from only £864 pp. The iconic Las Vegas Strip closes to traffic on New Year's Eve, so ring in the New Year with thousands of others under a canopy of dazzling lights and fireworks before heading to one of the hundreds of parties at bars, hotels and casinos around the city.

Mark Attwell, MD of dealchecker.co.uk, comments: "This has been a difficult economic year, but a Christmas holiday is a tradition in many families and British tourists still want to go abroad. We've seen a big surge in interest in cheap holidays and early booking deals approaching the Christmas season, and at this time of year, booking holidays early can result in hundreds if not thousands of pounds of savings."
