I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

GLORY (U.S.A.) Inc. Unveils High Speed Automated Currency Sorters with Auto-Strapping and AccuStamp™ Technology

GLORY (U.S.A.) Inc., www.gloryusa.com, the leader in cash management solutions announced today the launch of two efficient high performance currency sorters with strapping capability. The UWH-1000 and the UWH-1500 provide a wide range of opportunities for high productivity, and accuracy in processing bank note operations.

Both models offer an innovative modular design. The UWH-1000 configuration consists of a 4-pocket currency sorter, table that the sorter resides on, on-board operational software with error recovery instructions, a touch screen for easy operation and a single strapping unit.

Due to the unique modular design the UWH-1000 can be modified as customer’s needs grow by simply adding an optional second strapping unit, model YUWH-10A-BD.

The UWH-1500 is based on the same configuration as the UWH-1000 and includes the upgrade of an additional strapping unit for increased efficiencies.

The configurable strapping unit drops the straps into a container or the unit’s storage drawer which works on an elevator system and holds up to 10 straps. In the event that an operator opens the drawer door to remove the straps, the sorter will continue operation with no interruption in the process. And based on customer preference or vault requirements, the operator can easily change the UW-1000 settings to strap the bundle center or edge.

Innovative AccuStamp™ technology can provide automated stamping of name, ABA and site information for each strap to streamline the process. Additional key features include:

  • Authentication & Transaction Ability
The large hopper capacity holds up to 1,000 notes. High speed counting transaction of 720 per minute and strapping of 7.2 straps per minute provide enhanced productivity.
  • The Ultimate in Reliability and Nonstop Operation
The innovative strapping technology automates the process of sorting and strapping, saving operator time and reducing overall costs. Multi pockets enable one-denomination strapping simultaneously. When any pocket reaches a 100 note batch, the sorting process continues, using any of the other remaining pockets.
  • EZRead™ Color Touch Screen
On-board PC with 15 inch color touch screen displays user-friendly illustrations which provide full count visibility and manual entries of mutilated notes when used in stand alone mode.
  • GLORY’s Note Transfer Technology
The innovative design and manufacturing process using proven note transfer technology ensures a straight note path producing noise reduction, less potential for jams and easy jam recovery.

“The durability and function variety of these new sorters with strapping capability provides an extraordinary cash management solution to cash processing operations. With over 60 years of developing cash management solutions we listen to our customers and deliver solutions that meet their changing business needs. Our two newest configurations are a good example of how “voice of customer” matters at GLORY”, said Tina Tuccillo, VP Marketing & Product Strategy for GLORY (U.S.A.) Inc.
