CHAMPS Software, Inc. Announces the Release of Its Solution for Modernizing Legacy Applications
The company's solution is designed to accelerate the modernization of complex legacy software applications for deployment on private clouds

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla., Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CHAMPS Software, Inc. (CHAMPS), the leading developer of enterprise MRO solutions, today announced the availability of its comprehensive solution for modernizing complex enterprise applications. The solution is designed for implementation by industrial, commercial, educational and other large facilities for transforming their legacy applications to Web technologies for deployment on their private clouds.

CHAMPS' modernization process is database driven. "Our application modernization process is independent of the programming language used for developing the application. The process retains the existing database structure, or the DB structure can be altered based on the customer needs. The existing data is retained, cleansed and does not require laborious migration efforts for transferring to the new application," said Jeremiah Holderbaugh, the architect of this unique approach to software modernization.

"The database-driven techniques developed by CHAMPS offer the benefits and advantages to modernizing legacy applications that are unmatched by any other approach or vendor," said Bryan Gay, CEO of CHAMPS. "By focusing on your existing database, we ensure that your data is retained and your data migration headaches eliminated. All the time-tested core business functions of legacy software are retained and enhanced as desired. Our methodology does not require the lengthy requirements gathering and software engineering because the functionality is already defined. We reuse our previously developed foundation programs for functions such as login, security, workflow and other administrative set-up components. Having substantial development work already in place, our approach is by far the quickest solution for modernizing legacy applications."

To demonstrate the speed of development and visual look and feel of the modernized application, CHAMPS offers to complete a proof of concept at no cost to the prospective customers. "During this phase, we will verify why our approach is cheaper than full re-write; cheaper than manual migration; or cheaper than implementing off the shelf software," said Chuck Patel, President, CHAMPS BI Division. "It will quickly become evident that retaining existing database, business rules and work flows not only minimize the cost of modernizing legacy applications, but it also offers the best chance of success compared to all alternate approaches."

CHAMPS develops and implements software solutions that enable large enterprises to optimize the life cycles of their capital assets and manage MRO activities. Incorporating the Web technologies, the solutions are well suited for deployment on an organization's private cloud. CHAMPS solutions include work management, work force safety, permit to work, inventory lockout/tagout and other such MRO applications. Implementation of these solutions result in operational excellence, leading to decreased cost and increased profits. With its BI division, CHAMPS offers leading BI solutions for enterprises to convert their data into meaningful and actionable information.
