LogLogic Announces Accelerated Growth in 3rd Quarter 2009

LogLogic®, the leader in log and security management solutions, today announced the company set new growth records in the third quarter of 2009. Bookings grew 57% over Q2 2009 and the company added 52 new customers worldwide.

In addition to accelerated growth in revenues and customers for the quarter, LogLogic also named Guy Churchward as the new CEO, expanded the company’s board of directors, named two new vice presidents to the management team, announced new product upgrades, and issued two industry white papers on the latest trends in compliance and security in the energy and healthcare sectors.

“LogLogic’s performance this quarter demonstrates our strength in delivering industry-leading solutions for compliance and security,” Churchward said. “Year over year revenue growth demonstrates our passionate commitment to innovation and enabling our customers’ success. It’s great to see solid results during an extraordinary time of economic uncertainty for so many.”

LogLogic added 52 new customers in the third quarter, including Christiana Care Health System, Glendale Water & Power, the Library of Congress, SITA, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Committee, and WinTrust Financial Corporation, to name a few.

In addition to Churchward, who joined the company as CEO in August 2009 from NetApp, LogLogic also appointed two new vice presidents in the third quarter: Matt Galligan and Bob Hornsby.

Galligan, responsible for federal sales, brings 25 years of sales experience and has served as vice president of federal sales for McAfee and Secure Computing Corporation. Hornsby, responsible for North American channel sales, has held senior sales management roles with Secure Computing, Phoenix Technologies and Sonic Solutions.

LogLogic also named three new members to the company’s board of directors, including Peter Goettner, Deborah Rieman and Marc Verstaen. Goettner, general partner at Worldview Technology Partners, replaces Worldview partner Mark Orsak on the board. Rieman, managing partner of private hedge fund Equus Global Investments and LogLogic’s first independent director, is the former CEO of Check Point Software Technologies and vice president of marketing of Adobe Systems. Verstaen, founder and CEO of Lorienne S.A., a leader in map authoring tools, and founder and CEO of Beatware, a software company specializing in data representation for the Web and mobile devices (acquired by Hyperion), currently serves as Engineering Manager at Apple.

Among upgrades in the company’s product line up, LogLogic shipped NERC Compliance Suite 1.0 and LSP 14. LogLogic NERC Compliance Edition is a packaged collection of reports and alerts to help manage the exposure risks of critical assets under the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards. It provides more than 75 reports and 170 alerts to help establish a repeatable, faster compliance process and control the costs of non-compliance risks and fines. The suite complements the LogLogic LX/ST Log Management and the Security Event Manager products that are key components to implementing a successful NERC compliance program.

Log Source Packages (LSP) are quarterly software updates for log management appliances in the field, providing additional support for new log sources and updated support for existing log sources. LSP 14 now adds support for Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 and the General Database Collector for Oracle, as well as updating support for Windows Server 2008 and Secure Computing G2 Sidewinder.

In August 2009, LogLogic released a report detailing information about IT security industry benchmarks and best practices for the energy sector as practiced by security professionals from a variety of energy and utilities companies throughout the United States, with a focus on challenges associated with NERC. In October, LogLogic partnered with the Ponemon Institute to issue an independent national survey of healthcare IT security professionals that shows patients may be surrendering their privacy as the $2.5 trillion medical industry – prompted by federal stimulus funding – pushes to accelerate the pace of digitizing health information records.
